WARDOGS Season 2 patch notes: everything that changed

· 9 min read · AFKDOG Operations

Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 after a 90 minute maintenance window, and the three changes that will actually alter your matches are the calibre damage cut, the faster role tracks, and the new suppression model. Everything else is additive: four weapons, four vehicles, three buildables, a rain preset and a Gold Market camo rotation. This post walks the whole list in the order it will affect you, and every figure here comes from the official Season 02 patch notes on Steam.

The damage rework is the headline, not the new guns

High-calibre rounds were doing close to sniper damage out of assault rifles, DMRs and LMGs, at a far higher rate of fire. The developer cut the base damage of four calibres, and the cut applies to every weapon that fires them, infantry and vehicle alike:

  • .308 Winchester down 25%
  • 7.62x54mmR down 20%
  • 7.62x39mm down 19%
  • .50 Cal down 16%

Sniper rifles were given increased hit-location damage to offset their base reduction, so the single-shot fantasy survives. The stated intent is not to make high-calibre weapons bad but to close the gap inside each archetype: the FAL still has the highest damage per shot among assault rifles, it just sits nearer the M4 and the new TCX-SPR than it did.

Armour came down with it

Both top armour tiers lost damage reduction, which partly offsets the calibre cut rather than compounding it. Level 3 armour and helmets dropped from 55% to 50%, and Level 4 from 65% to 60%. Twelve gauge slugs now scale against armour by tier instead of applying one flat reduction.

The Level 4 helmet also picked up real downsides: muffled audio, muffled proximity chat, a restricted field of view, and a visor that fogs when you sprint. It is no longer a strictly better choice, which is the point.

Suppression was rebuilt

Suppression is now built on shared falloff curves per weapon, so being shot at reads the same regardless of what is shooting. Near-miss suppression from small and medium calibres is considerably stronger, rate of fire is accounted for so an SMG no longer suppresses disproportionately, and screen shake was reduced so the effect is legible instead of fighting you for control. Level 3 helmets cut suppression by 68% and Level 4 by 80%.

Four weapons, four vehicles, three buildables

The new weapons, each with a new set of optics, muzzle devices, magazines and bipods behind them:

  • TCX-SPR [7.62x39mm] assault rifle
  • PP-19 Bizon [9x19mm] SMG
  • Evo-3 Ultra [.308 Win] LMG
  • M14 [.308 Win] marksman rifle

And the vehicles:

  • Wolf-110, a fast light wheeled transport
  • Wolf-110 [M2 Browning], the same chassis with a ring-mounted M2
  • T-72B3, a main battle tank: slower than the L2A6, cheaper, slightly more fuel-efficient
  • Flakpanzer Gepard, anti-air

Buildables gained an MG Nest (a manned M2 emplacement), a Large Shelter for covering assets or keeping rain off, and a Wooden Step. A Molotov joins the throwables: impact damage plus burn over time, it ignites destructible foliage, and rain reduces the fire.

Rain is a mechanic, not a filter

The new rain preset changes how the match plays. Spotting range is affected by rain. Molotov fire is reduced by it. Rain sounds different depending on whether you are under cover, indoors, in a vehicle or in the open, and destroying a roof makes it visibly come through. Thunder during heavy rain is heard by every player on the server at the same moment from the same direction, and it is loud enough to mask footsteps.

Progression got substantially faster

Levels 10 to 20 were the stall point in Season 1 and took the heaviest cut. Reaching level 20 now takes less than half the playtime it did. Total XP required at each milestone:

  • Level 10: 35,000 to 25,000, 29% quicker
  • Level 15: 110,000 to 54,750, 50% quicker
  • Level 20: 250,000 to 111,500, 55% quicker
  • Level 30: 500,000 to 318,200, 36% quicker
  • Level 40: 975,000 to 712,500, 27% quicker
  • Level 50: 1,500,000 to 1,150,000, 23% quicker

The full role-track and unlock reshuffle is covered separately in our breakdown of the Season 2 progression changes, and if you would rather skip the climb entirely our Wardogs leveling service runs any range by hand.

The faction experiment, and the Wager Vendor that is not here yet

Lonestar had a notoriously lower win rate, and the developer attributes most of that to sentiment rather than mechanics. For Season 2 only, Lonestar gets a cash and XP win bonus plus teamplay action multipliers. All faction spawns moved on Bakurani. Separately, any team sitting at least 40 points behind second place gets 20% off at vendors, which applies to all three factions.

Team switching is now restricted once a team is more than 10 points ahead: a 15 minute lockout after joining, an obscured map until you reach the control zone for the first time, and no spawn vehicle until you do. Team killing moved to a victim-driven Forgive or Punish vote, with accumulating punishments leading to kicks and escalating bans.

The Wager Vendor, which lets you bet your own cash on your own performance with a live tracker above the minimap, is NOT available at Season 2 launch. It opens later in the season and is explicitly described as a temporary fixture that will come and go.

What this means if you were mid-climb

If you stopped playing in the level 10 to 20 band, that band is the one that got halved, so coming back is cheaper than leaving was. If you had settled on a .308 or 7.62 weapon because it out-damaged everything, it no longer does by the same margin, and the archetype you abandoned is worth retrying. If you earn mainly from spotting or logistics, read the Season 2 cash and XP reward changes before you plan a session, because both were rebalanced downward with streak bonuses layered on top.

Frequently asked

When did WARDOGS Season 2 release?

Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026, following a scheduled maintenance window between 08:00 and 09:30 UTC. The developer estimated roughly 90 minutes of downtime before the season opened.

What are the four new weapons in WARDOGS Season 2?

The TCX-SPR assault rifle in 7.62x39mm, the PP-19 Bizon SMG in 9x19mm, the Evo-3 Ultra LMG in .308 Winchester, and the M14 marksman rifle in .308 Winchester. A new set of optics, muzzle devices, magazines and bipods arrived alongside them.

Did Season 2 nerf high calibre weapons?

It cut their base damage: .308 Winchester by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19% and .50 Cal by 16%. The reduction applies to every weapon firing those rounds, including vehicle weapons. Sniper rifles received increased hit-location damage to compensate.

Is the Wager Vendor available now?

No. The patch notes state twice that the Wager Vendor is not available at Season 2 launch and will open later in the season. It is also described as a non-permanent addition intended to come and go throughout a season, so it may not be present continuously once it does open.

Is levelling faster in Season 2?

Yes, at every milestone. The largest cuts are in the band players stalled in: level 20 now needs 111,500 total XP instead of 250,000, which is 55% quicker. Level 50 came down from 1,500,000 to 1,150,000.
