Bronze 5
Bronze 4Forty-five positions. Divisions count DOWN inside a tier: 5 is the bottom and 1 is the top, which catches people out constantly. Emerald sits between Platinum and Diamond and was added long after most rank charts on the internet were written, so a table that goes Platinum to Diamond is five divisions short.
Your rank is your matchmaking rating, and the game shows you none of it. You see a tier, a division, and a percentage toward the next one. So nothing here asks you to type a rating in: you pick where you are from the badges the game draws, and that is the whole question.
When your progress would fall below zero the game holds you in demotion protection for a few games before it actually demotes you. It is the reason a climb that stalls is rarely a climb that goes backwards, and the reason a partly finished order is in no danger of unwinding while it waits.
