Final Fantasy XIV Main Scenario FAQ

Cutscenes are left unskipped unless you ask otherwise, so the story is there to watch afterwards in the Unending Journey. If you would rather it be quick, say so on the order.
Customer ratingbased on 3,886 reviewsRead reviews

Priced per expansion, because that is how it is bought

Nobody buys two-thirds of Heavensward. They buy an expansion, usually the one they stalled in, and the patch quests that follow it. Each tier here is one expansion start to finish including every patch quest, and the tiers stack rather than replacing each other.

Shadowbringers costs three times Stormblood, and that is right

It is the longest single expansion in the game and the one most players stall in. The price difference is not a markup, it is hours. If you are returning after a long break this is usually the tier that is actually in your way.

What finishing it actually opens

Current savage, current extremes, the Ultimates, Bozja, Eureka, the relic lines and every piece of endgame gearing. The story is the single largest gate in this game, which is why this page is the one to buy first if you are behind on it.
