Will I lose MMR afterwards?

Only by playing. Dota does not decay MMR below Immortal, so a finished climb sits exactly where it was left until you queue again. Immortal accounts do decay if they stop playing, which is the game and not us.

Dota 2 MMR Boost FAQ

Roughly four minutes a point through the lower medals, slowing sharply above Divine where games are longer and the queue is thinner. A thousand points from Archon is a few days; the same thousand from Divine is a few weeks. You get an update per session either way.

Customer ratingbased on 3,886 reviewsRead reviews

Herald 1 to Immortal

Thirty-six positions, and the stars count UP inside a medal: Herald 1 is the bottom and Herald 5 the top, which is the opposite of how most games number them. The control shows the game's own medal for every tier, so what you select is what sits on your profile when it is done.

Immortal is a number, not a tier

Above 5,620 there are no stars left. There is only more MMR and, past a regional cutoff, a leaderboard position. So Immortal is the one rank on this page with a rating box, and the number you type in is the one your client already shows you.

The role changes the work

A carry climb and a position five climb are different jobs at the same MMR. Tell us which one and we queue it; leave it on any role and we take whatever the game gives, which is faster and is why it is the default.
