Ready to use, not raw materials

A kit arrives as the thing itself: the gun, the ammo for it, the armour and enough meds to survive being shot at. You are not handed components and a crafting list. That is the difference between this page and the resources page, and it is why a kit costs more than the mats inside it would.

Which kit, and when

The starter kit is for the first hour after a wipe, when a bow and a hatchet are genuinely the best things you can hold. Roadsign and a semi is the mid-wipe standard. The AK kit is for when you intend to go looking for a fight rather than avoid one. The raid kit is explosives and is priced as explosives, which is most of what a late-wipe order costs.
