The pinnacle fights are a gate, not a trophy
Atlas progression runs through them, so a build that cannot kill them stops progressing rather than just missing a cosmetic. That is why these sit at a different price from a campaign boss that is merely in your way.
The two trials people stall on
The Trial of the Sekhemas and the Trial of Chaos are where most characters lose their ascendancy points, and they are not a damage check: they are a long run with no checkpoints and an honour bar that does not forgive. Plenty of people buy exactly these two and nothing else.
